Dominic Grieve spent the day (Weds 13th April) canvassing in Bourne End in support of Councillors Mike Appleyard and Simon Bazley.
The Wycombe District Council elections are on 5th May.
Mike Appleyard has lived in Wooburn since 1976, has two sons, each with growing families and living in Australia.
Mike has been involved with local organisations for most of his time in the area
– he managed a boy’s football team and administered the club, he became treasurer and chairman of Bourne End Junior Sports Club and saw its loan reduce from £40K to £20K in six years, subsequently to become a balanced account.

Mike’s work career saw him manage the IT division of a large multinational company, followed by management of a manufacturing business division with sites around the world, making them a very profitable enterprise.
His political career saw him elected as a County Councillor in 1989, where he has held the posts of chairman Social Services, Education, Economic Development and now Public Health Scrutiny.
He was elected as a District Councillor in 1999 and a Parish Councillor in 1991.
In all of his work, Mike aims to deliver positive results for people and the area.
Simon Bazley is a software engineer, living in Marlow.
Simon has been working in IT locally since graduating from the University of York, with an Electronics Engineering degree in 1997.
Simon was elected to Wycombe District Council for the ward of The Wooburns, following a by-election in 2005, where he has focused on The Planning Committee and Planning policy and on scrutinising the Council (particularly Homelessness and Wycombe's Waste policy).
He was a member of Wooburn and Bourne End Parish Council from 2007 until 2009, during which he was chairman of the planning committee.
